The Oxalis Trio (flute, oboe, piano) was formed in 2023 and is based in New York’s Hudson Valley. They actively perform a wide range of trio and duo repertoire by composers such as J. S. Bach, G. Ph. Telemann, W. F. Bach, Madeleine Dring, Jacques Ibert, Gordon Jacob, Malcolm Arnold, Eugene Goossens, Richard Wilson, Camille Saint-Saëns, Alberto Ginastera, Ethel Smyth, William Grant Still, and many others. Trio members have all won national competitions and performed in concert halls around the world.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Alexandra Beliakovich is a Belarusian-American pianist and educator. As a performer, she has appeared with the Belarusian Symphony, Belarusian Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati and Manhattan School of Music Philharmonic Orchestras, Havana Symphony Orchestra and as recitalist in Belarus, China, Cuba, Japan, Poland, Spain and the USA. Alexandra was a prize winner in several piano competitions, such as Klaviermusik International Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania, International Piano Competition in Panama and the World Piano Competition. Alexandra’s recent engagements include concerto performances with the Havana Symphony Orchestra in Cuba and the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, she has also been featured on a WQXR radio broadcast.

Carl Gutowski is a flutist based in the Hudson Valley and Cape Cod, MA, who has been performing in solo and chamber music settings for over 30 years. Highlight performances over the past few seasons include venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall; the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall; the Chapel Restoration, Cold Spring, NY; the Cultural Center of Cape Cod; the Cape Cod Museum of Art; and the National Opera Center in NYC. He won the 2022 National Flute Association competition and is a laureate of the Boulder Bach Festival’s International Bach Competition (Community), and the Syrinx Competition (London). Carl is also the Concert Manager of the Howland Chamber Music Circle in Beacon, NY. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Vassar College and an M.S. in Computer Science from Tufts University. His principal flute teachers were Tacy Edwards, William Hebert and John Solum. When Carl isn’t making music, he is a Software Engineer with over 30 years of experience developing software systems for air traffic control, publishing, education, e-commerce and finance.

Zachary Pulse is a musician and teaching artist based in the Hudson Valley. His performance engagements this season include the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Caroga Lake Music Festival, Harrisburg Symphony, and New York Wind Symphony. A champion of new music and working with living composers, Zach has commissioned several works that exhibit the oboe and the voice. His duo, So Much Hot Air—with mezzo-soprano, Jennifer Beattie—was in residence with the Fall 2023 Yale College Composition Seminar. Zach has presented chamber music concerts across the U.S. and Europe with a wide range of ensembles, earning him several awards, including Grand Prize at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition. Zach holds degrees from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, the University of Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Howland Chamber Music Circle in Beacon, NY.
